I led the creation of a modern, scalable design system from initial concept to implementation, delegating tasks to a team of designers and developers. Leveraging the latest Figma features and applying best practices, I built a future-proof system tailored to Cineplex’s needs.

I also implemented processes to enhance collaboration between stakeholders, designers, and developers, and developed a documentation framework to ensure consistent, efficient use across teams.



🧐  RESEARCH → Setting the Stage

I conducted user interviews, surveys, and testing to identify audience needs. Stakeholder workshops aligned the system with Cineplex’s goals, while competitive analysis offered industry insights.


🔍  AUDIT → Analyzing the Current Ecosystem

The audit revealed inconsistencies across platforms, such as redundant components, mismatched styles, and accessibility shortcomings.


🎨  DESIGN → Crafting the Framework

  • Created a library of reusable UI components, including buttons, cards, and navigation.
  • Established design tokens for colors, typography, and spacing to maintain consistency.
  • Designed accessible components meeting WCAG 2.1 AA standards.

📝  DOCUMENTATION → Enabling Collaboration

I built a dynamic documentation portal featuring detailed usage guidelines, developer-ready code snippets, and best practices for accessibility and responsive design.

After reviewing and providing feedback on research, competitive analysis, and business goals, I collaborated closely with the squad’s design lead, designers and developers to ensure high-quality outcomes.

In my role as the design system lead, I was regularly consulted for guidance on implementing design elements, maintaining consistency, and ensuring proper usage across all mocks and proposed designs. I provided feedback, reviewed designs, and offered input on flows, usability, and accessibility to support a cohesive and user-centered approach throughout the project.

Cineplex website redesign

I played a key role in this website redesign project, which aimed to modernize and elevate the user experience while aligning with the latest industry best practices. My contributions included introducing updated branding for a cohesive identity, refining the information architecture for intuitive navigation, and overseeing the cleanup of back-end infrastructure to support future modules.

I ensured a strong focus on usability and accessibility, aligning the platform with WCAG standards for an inclusive experience. Additionally, I worked to address new business objectives by optimizing the ticket purchasing flow for efficiency and clarity.

While the website was already responsive, I contributed to further enhancing mobile usability. I also led efforts to update SEO integration, aligning it with modern search engine requirements for better visibility. Every decision I made was guided by user research and competitive analysis, ensuring the design met both user needs and business goals.

The “Backstage” project involved modernizing the content management system (CMS) for the Cineplex Store website, which also serves as a central hub for customer support and inventory management. The initiative focused on updating functionality to streamline workflows, resetting backend connections for improved performance, and aligning the system’s visuals with Cineplex’s updated branding.

I was actively involved in aligning the project with business goals, creating wireframes, producing high-quality mockups, and acting as a liaison between designers and developers to ensure seamless implementation. Usability and accessibility were key priorities, ensuring the platform is intuitive, efficient, and WCAG-compliant.

This redesign not only enhanced the user experience for internal teams but also laid the groundwork for future scalability and operational efficiency.
